Marin Kyle
They/Them
Marin has always gravitated toward a highly active lifestyle; one rooted in physical momentum and expression. Like many others though, there have been periods of time where maintaining a personal practice felt difficult or out of reach.
At the start of the 2020 pandemic, Marin found themselves with a rare combination of free time and financial stability. This moment reignited their desire to return to a consistent movement practice. Driven by a need to live a life in motion, they reconnected with aerial dance and martial arts.
Marin remained committed - training through online group stretching classes and practicing stick fighting outdoors in the park amidst wind, rain, and snow. As restrictions eased and in-person classes resumed, Marin discovered how powerful community and measurable progress could be in sustaining motivation. In search of a way to push through certain plateaus in their training, they turned to weightlifting, an experience that transformed not only their physical strength but also their relationship with their body.
Now, with several years of strength training experience, an ongoing aerial practice, and a role as a martial arts instructor, Marin has cultivated a deep mind-body connection and a nuanced understanding of movement mechanics.
They are passionate about sharing this knowledge and supporting clients who are struggling to find motivation or reconnect with their bodies.
Through teaching martial arts, Marin has come to value gradual, respectful engagement with movement as a way for people to rebuild trust in their bodies and develop a sense of strength and agency. Weightlifting, in particular, has been life-changing,not only improving their overall quality of life, but also reinforcing the belief that obstacles can be overcome through patience and persistence.
Marin approaches movement with care, awareness, and intention. They are especially committed to supporting individuals who may not see themselves represented in traditional fitness spaces. Their goal is to help people develop practical self-defense skills, maintain mobility and strength as they age, and cultivate confidence and ownership over their bodies.
Ultimately, Marin hopes to continue collaborating in the creation and maintenance of spaces where people feel empowered to move, grow stronger, and reconnect with themselves: spaces that support both personal healing and collective resilience.
